Quick answer: The United Center stands on the Near West Side at 1901 W Madison Street, about 10 to 20 minutes from downtown hotels outside event traffic. It is the busiest venue in Chicago — basketball, hockey and concerts most weeks of the year — and that means lots fill, Madison Street congests, and the crowd leaves in one wave. A chauffeur solves it: set down near the gates, the vehicle waits nearby, and you leave when you choose. Royal runs S-Class sedans, luxury SUVs and Escalades, Sprinter van limos and Jet Sprinters, so groups arrive together. Hourly with a three-hour minimum. (866) 811-0999 or book online.

Why the United Center Is Its Own Problem

Three things make this venue different from the rest of the city’s calendar.

FactorWhat it means for you
It runs almost every weekTwo sports seasons overlap with a concert calendar, so event traffic is a year-round pattern, not a seasonal one
Lots fill from the inside outThe closest parking goes first and earliest; what’s left means a long walk in Chicago weather
Madison Street congests both waysApproach traffic builds well before tip-off or doors, and the surrounding streets slow with it
Everyone leaves at onceA sold-out arena empties in minutes and the lots drain far more slowly
Doubleheader nightsWhen a game and a nearby event land together, the whole Near West Side tightens

None of it affects a chauffeured booking. No pass, no search, no walk, no exit queue.

The Fleet for an Arena Night

Royal runs a focused fleet: premium arrivals for one to six, and Sprinters when the group travels together.

VehicleCapacityTypical use at the arena
Mercedes-Benz S-ClassUp to 3Executives, couples, client arrivals where the car is part of the impression
Luxury SUVUp to 6Small groups and families with room for coats
Cadillac EscaladeUp to 6The standard for suite guests and corporate hospitality
Sprinter van limoUp to 14Friend groups, birthdays and concert nights
Jet SprinterUp to 12The executive cabin — lounge seating for client groups and corporate outings

The arithmetic that decides it: fourteen people in one Sprinter van limo is one arrival, one set-down point and one departure. The same fourteen in three SUVs is three parking decisions, three arrival times and a group that spends the first half hour regrouping. Past about eight passengers, the Sprinter is usually the cheaper option per head as well as the simpler one.

S-Class sedans, luxury SUVs and Escalades are always available. Sprinter van limos and Jet Sprinters need a call to confirm. See our fleet and Sprinter service.

Set-Down and Collection

  1. We set you down as close as the event plan allows, usually a short walk to the gates. Access routes differ by event, so your chauffeur confirms the exact point by text on the night
  2. The vehicle stages nearby on an hourly booking, or returns at an agreed time
  3. Message dispatch as you start walking out, and we meet at the point set beforehand
  4. Agree that point before doors. Signal inside a full arena is unreliable, and a plan made early survives a dead phone

For any group booking, fix one collection point and a departure time before anyone goes in. Fourteen people finding one vehicle works when the plan exists; it falls apart when it’s improvised after an overtime finish.

Don’t sprint for the door. Waiting out the first 20 to 40 minutes somewhere warm usually gets the group home sooner than joining the crush — and it’s a far better end to the night.

Sprinters need a longer runway than sedans. Larger vehicles move slower through event traffic and need more space to stage, so a group departure should leave earlier than a couple’s would.

Corporate Hospitality and Suite Groups

Client entertaining at this venue is constant, and the logistics are always the same: the group arrives together, the host manages nothing, and everyone leaves without a scramble.

  • Staged arrivals for multi-vehicle groups, coordinated by one dispatcher
  • Hourly blocks so the vehicle holds through the event and the dinner around it
  • Chauffeurs in business attire, briefed on the schedule and discreet with clients aboard
  • Pre- and post-event dining stops in the West Loop, minutes away
  • Corporate billing with documentation on request: corporate car service
  • Executive standard for senior guests through our division at Black Car Services

Concert Nights

Concerts change the rhythm rather than the plan: later doors, a later finish, and a crowd that leaves even more tightly packed than a sporting event. Everything above still applies, with two additions — book the return as an hourly block rather than a fixed pickup, because encores run long, and expect the West Loop to be busy afterward if the group wants a late table. Birthdays, Celebrations and Nights Out

A game or a show is often the middle of a longer evening. An hourly Sprinter booking covers the whole arc: dinner in the West Loop minutes away, the event, then wherever the night goes next — one vehicle, one chauffeur, no one driving. It’s the reason most group bookings here are hourly rather than point to point.

United Center Transportation FAQs

Where is the United Center?
1901 W Madison Street, on Chicago’s Near West Side, just west of the Loop and the West Loop restaurant district.

How long is the drive from downtown?
10 to 20 minutes on clear roads, and 20 to 40 on event nights depending on the start time.

What vehicles do you run to the arena?
Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedans, luxury SUVs and Escalades, Sprinter van limos seating up to 14, and Jet Sprinters with executive lounge seating for up to 12.

What’s the largest group you can move?
Up to 14 in a single Sprinter van limo, with multiple vehicles coordinated by one dispatcher for larger groups.

Is a Sprinter cheaper than several SUVs?
Past about eight passengers, usually yes per person — and it’s one set-down point and one departure instead of three.

Where will we be set down?
As close as the event plan allows, typically a short walk to the gates. Your chauffeur confirms the exact point by text that night.

How does collection work afterward?
Message dispatch as you walk out and we meet at a point agreed before doors, since signal inside a full arena is unreliable.

How bad is the exit?
The arena empties in minutes and the lots drain slowly, which is why waiting out the first 20 to 40 minutes usually gets you home sooner.

Can the vehicle stay through the event?
Yes. An hourly booking holds the vehicle and chauffeur, which also covers a dinner stop either side.

Can you handle a concert with an unpredictable finish?
Yes, and we recommend booking the return hourly rather than as a fixed pickup, because encores run long.

What is the minimum booking?
Three hours on hourly service. Point-to-point trips are quoted per trip.

How is gratuity handled?
A 20% gratuity is added to the hourly total, with taxes and tolls included in the rate.

Do you charge more for playoffs or big concerts?
No. Rates vary by date, vehicle and availability, but there’s no surge pricing.

What’s the difference between a Sprinter van limo and a Jet Sprinter?
Both carry a group in one vehicle. The Jet Sprinter has executive lounge seating and a more finished cabin, which is why client groups and corporate outings usually choose it.

How far ahead should a Sprinter be booked?
Two to four weeks. Sprinter inventory is limited and event nights fill first.
